The opposite of play is not work— the opposite of play is depression.

Creativity is Therapeutic
Living in a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, it’s easy to feel stuck, isolated and overwhelmed.
The good news?
Whether it’s cooking, doodling, singing in the shower or journaling, we all have an innate ability to create.
I know firsthand how overwhelming depression, anxiety and fear can be. Collage-making has become a personal creative practice for me, a way to transform difficult emotions into art.
The heart of improvisation is transformation.
Viola Spolin, Improvisation for the Theatre
All Creative Work is Improvisational
As a trained actor and improviser, I’ve spent years teaching and practicing how we can "yes, and" ourselves in life, just like we did as kids when we played without hesitation. As adults, stepping away from overthinking and embracing the freedom of creativity is restorative, especially in challenging times.
Life is a creative process, and collaborative creativity is especially therapeutic. Social therapeutic group coaching offers opportunities for connection, moments of joy, and new possibilities, even in a world as alienating and painful as ours.
Womanity Play – Creating Our Lives Together
Meet my creative and therapeutic collaborator, Aurelie Harp. Together, we co-lead a weekly in-person social therapeutic group in New York City and a monthly Creative Playground on Zoom.
In these groups we experience how creativity and collaboration can lead to emotional growth.
We let go of expectations
We build community
